The slopes are great, the views are breath taking, and it was all lots of fun in Zell am See. The skiresort is best suited to intermediates. Some of the blue slopes are challenging. From the Schmittenhohe there are a couple of nice black routes. In general the snow conditions where alright, but the main slopes back to town were a bit icy (and crowded). I've been skiing in Zakopane, Poland with my family for the last 2 winters in a row. The town is really beautiful and it's so nice to be able to afford to go to nice restaurants IN a ski resort with a meal for the whole family costing under £40 every time. I'd recommend Zakopane to anyone looking to try skiing and snowboarding for the first time or looking to improve with some excellent and affordable instructional packages.

I first went here in Ferbruary 2004 with a group of 32 and I organised it through Rune at Sjumilskogen, he could not have been more helpful and I have subsequently organised a further two holidays using Rune to co-ordinate in the resort.
