Latest ski resort reviews

Visited Kitzbuhel for a week from 17-24th March 2007. Journey is short with only a 1hr 15m trf from Salzburg airport. The resort has a town feel to it and doesnt have the traditional ski resort feel Ive experienced elsewhere. The town doesnt have a great number of restaurants to visit. There are quite a few bars, but theyre scattered around, and the apres-ski vibe is pretty non-existant. We have just returned from a fabulous week (ending 3rd March). The snow is excellent with plenty of powder. However it is a little difficult to ski across to Zurs due mainly to wind and poor visibility. The best of the weather definitely seems to be in Lech. Even St Anton has poor visibility. Ummm Chamonix? Disappointing. We ski largely in the Dolomites (Val Gardena) or Italian Alps. This was or first visit to Chamonix. We were a group of ten ranging from expert to second week beginners. The skiing on the whole is good. La Tour is fine for the more timid and the rest of the valley is off piste heaven. The weather and snow conditions were great.
