Abtenau is a place where you just go back for more. The skiing is not particuaraly challenging but the convienience of the hotel and the friendliness of the villagers make up for this. It is great for large groups (wherever you are on the mountain or in a restaurant you will see somebodt you know) and people with young children

Finkenberg is an excellent resort. The scenary in the Ziller and Tux valleys is breathtaking. Finkenberg is picture postcard. The resort is friendly, with 2 good nitespots the Laternal and the Finkenest. As far as the skiing is concerned, the super zillertal liftpass is one of the best value passes I have seen. Yet again me and my family are back in Alpbach, it becomes twice a year pleasure (Christmas New Year) and half term in February. Each time is just getting better and better, always staying in Alpchof Hotel, great place to relax with very good service, very good food, very nice large rooms and friendly atmosphere (lovely swimming pool).
