What can I say!? A fab place which amazingly gets lots of snow for a relatively low resort. Apparently this is due to it being at the end of a valley. Some great trees runs are possible and there is a massive area of powder to shred after a dump, just check your route from the lifts. The apres ski has to be seen to be believed. I spent a season here and would go back again without a second thought. The area is basically comprised of three main zones, which are not connected by lifts. Yep, that means buses. Don’t be put off, this is a good thing. Most people on a weeks holiday take the easiest route up the hill i.e. the nearest gondola. In Zell for third time - this time over the new year thanks to the school attendance people. Snow not good at the beginning - except on the Kaprun glacier, but then we got something like 50cms of snow over 36 hours. Snow after that was magical with all lifts open and slopes kept in great shape. Only downside of the snow was that we were driven off the glacier by a blizzard. Given that it was new year, crowds at lifts and slopes not too bad and we rarely had to queue very long. One…
