La Plagne: a victim of its own success? Went to La Plagne 16-23 Feb 08, half term week, stayed at the Maeva Lauze appartments in La Plagne 1800.The apartments are about a 150 metres walk downhill to a gentle piste that takes you to the chairlift out of the village. You need to really take another chairlift to get you into the ski area. Went to Zell week of 8th March. Had a fantastic week's skiing. The resort was great, although was quiet in the evenings. Stayed at the Stadt Wien hotel- what a great place- a short walk from city express- the staff were extreamly helpful. Lifts etc were all well organised and resturants on the run's were very good and cheaper then France- the one at the top of the city express- although you have to wait that bit longer the food is fresh and cooked to order. Have been to St Anton several times over the past 5 years and still love the place. You really must try to visit it once in your lifetime. There are two main attractions - the skiing (especially off piste) and the apres ski. This is not the place for beginners, nor would I say families (although I did take my 3 kids- 4, 7 and 10, there for the day - whilst we were staying in Oberlech at end of Jan to sample the Mooserwirt and they loved it).
