I've stayed in Laplagne at Montalbert 3 times in the past with a group of blokes. Montalbert is a very nice but quite dead village at the bottom of the ski area but we have always had a brilliant time (both skiing and drinking)there. I decided to go to Plagne Bellecote with my Wife and 2 (13 + 17 yrs) children for the Easter break. We stayed in Maeva Residence Bellecote. Ski-ing across the whole area is well connected and queues reasonable. The slope at 1800 are far better as they remain powder snow for longer and are much wider and novice freindly. Although the ski-ing and accommodation were of a reasonable standard at Les Arcs (1600) the apres ski and food were poor, La Cachette only provided buffet sytle food which in theory should be OK for everyone but every dish contained meat or fish and being vegetarian this posed a great problem. Decided to try Gargellen for Easter and arranged cheap flight to Fredrickshafen. Transfer to Gargellen was a short and simple drive of 1hr 15 mins. Snow was great 40cm of new snow when we arrived on the 12th April. Unfortunately the skiing was poor for piste skiers. Only 1 red run that got very tight down towards the village, about 3 blues up in the main area and 2 main blue runs that lead to the village.
