First time to the resort with family and was hugely impressed. Massive amounts spent on infrastructure and everything works. Mixture of Europeans, predominantly Austrian and German with a smattering of Brits and Russians. Russians mainly come in January and the designer shops are laid bare during this time. Great food and huge portions, you will never go hungry. I recommend Loba for real Austrian food and Pizzeria Nona. Apres Ski pretty wild if thats your thing. We were very lucky with snow which fell non stop for the first 2 days and then sunshine all week. Panoramic restaurant is the best mountain restaurant with spectacular views and great food. Skiing mainly red and blue but enought to k

Whilst the off-piste is not as good as its near neighbour St Anton, the on-piste skiing is as good and off the slopes in the bars Ischgl is definately 5 star. The lift system is very efficient, the views great, especially on the long run down into Samnaun. Not many cosy little restaurants on the pistes though. Ischgl also is one of the most snow sure resorts around, usually open from the end of November to the beginning of May, and no glacier skiing. Only negative with the skiing is the two runs from the middle station back to the village often icy, narrow in places and full of those who would be better off getting the gondola down from the mid station.

I spent a couple of days in Ischgl in March 2006 and the skiing was excellent. At this late point in the season the runs back down to Ischgl were past their best and the majority of people opted for one of the three gondolas that take you back to the town from the mid station. However, the majority of runs (above the mid-station) were excellent, especially if you
e an intermediate. Snow conditions were still very good - none of the slushy conditions that can spoil Lech and St Anton in the afternoons. The lift system was the most modern I have ever seen and there were no queues. I would recommend this resort to anyone who wants to get away from the hordes of Brits, lots of intermediate terrai
