Les diablerets is a small but utterly charming village, right of the lid of a box of swiss chocolates. the village nestles in a river valley surrounded by breathtakingly beautiful mountains including, of course the famous diablerets glacier 3000. life here is very gentle, and unhurried, far removed from the hustle and crowds of the more famous larger swiss resorts. everybody is courteous and you are treated like a welcome guest, not just a source of income. the village only has a hand…

Delightful small village but with plenty to do. lots of friendly dutch and english people. busy at times on the slopes, but with the funicular it is only 5 minutes until you are at the top of the hartkaiser. runs on ellmau side were limited in number but it is very easy to get to scheffau and soll to explore loads of runs. piste map does leave a lot to be desired and we found it a bit confusing. off piste is good but limited in tree runs as the trees are too close together.

The slopes themselves were brilliant, enough mild blues to keep the beginners and lower intermediates happy, a mix of wide slopes, tree lined runs and beautiful views, some great reds on the south side where all the sun was, and some more testing blacks into the town. the option of going to kaprun was also good as it gave us a change of scenery for a day, although the landscape isnt as beautiful as zell, the views were amazing, and despite the abundance of t-bars, the shallow blue…
