Alagna is a fantastic area with great skiing for all abilities and great access to off-piste. Best suits adventures intermediates to experts, but also offers 180kms of good cruising pistes. Alagna can get busy at peak times because of its proximity to Milan/Turin but very quite the majority of time. Excellent resort. would go again. blizzard on sunday set down all the snow we needed - fantastic covering for the rest of the week. challenging blacks (some were closed). truly brilliant reds (hardly saw anyone and it was half term). blue runs busy but not crowded. chair lift from la toura to glacier absolutely brilliant - never a line. unless its really, really cold, use the chair lifts from la toura; gondola always had lines. wonderful carving on glacier. keep your speed up at the ...

We have been to ischgl three times and can honestly say silvretta arena is a very good resort. new lifts, good snow, great views and runs of various difficulties. the low-lying pistes can be a problem with snow and can get all iced up. also rodelbahn (runs at least twice a week after dark) is all ice. silvretta arena also falls partly into switzerland, the village samnaun is a duty- zone (with good snow conditions you can ski right trough the village) but beware – there are ...
