Enjoyed the blues and reds, and found the skiing interesting although limited. Easy access to Flachau on the 9.30am postbus on Tuesdays,Wednesdays and Thursdays. Free with area lift pass, and excellent skiing. Loved all the mountain restaurants and found the staff very friendly. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Meribel is right in the middle of the largest ski area in the world: The Trois Vallees. It isn't down market, but not too expensive like neighbouring Courchevel. The apres ski and entertainment (Jacks Bar, Rond Point, Altitude Festival) is superb. Lot's of brits here. Chalets are more fun than large tour operators, Meribel has the greatest choice.

Both Maurhofen and the neighbouring resorts offer superb boarding, particularly for freestyle, and the snowboard park is amazing. Mayrhofen is a lively resort which boosts an active apres ski scene. There are two downsides to this resort though. One, you can\'t board down towards the village. Second, the snow record isn\'t that great.
