Popular ski resort reviews

Great place for both beginners and more experienced skiers. The views are wonderful, the lift lines are going fast, there are plenty of restaurant where people are always friendly. The ski resort is large enough so you are able to ski an entire day and not have to ski the same slopes over and over again. We love it!

While Filzmoos does not have an enormous ski area there are several other resorts just down the valley that are included on your lift pass and my 2 favourites are Zauchensee and Flachauwinkl, both of which give you access to a large linked area. In all the years I have been going there I have never experienced a lack of snow and there have been some years when there has been so much that we have wondered if we would be able to get out of the village! The slopes in Filzmoos are superb for families, intermediate skiers and begginers. With no Black runs it means that the whole mountain is a joy to explore. The pistes are wide yet varied and were kept in great condition. One of the high points are the mountain top cafes. They are traditional wood, and the staff are excellent. For those who enjoy an elevenses of gluwein or hot chocolate, and lunch of cracking goulash, this is the resort to go to. Cant wait to go back!
