Popular ski resort reviews

Gargellen is a wonderful resort. It is not a large village. The on-piste skiing is fairly limited. I think Gargellen's forte is off-piste, which there is absolute tons of. The snow record of Gargellen is excellent. We stayed at the Bradabella Hotel which is warm, welcoming and offers first class service.

The skiing was fantastic. Great snow, great pistes. Piste map is hopeless but doing the Sella Ronda is a breeze as it is well signed in both directions and although we didn't do the Sella Ronda twice in one day we could have done. We found the way to the Marmolada was slow so do it first thing and then head off round the SR. Equiptment hire is cheap. Food is excellent. Mountains spectacular, like they've been instructed to impress.

Decided to try Gargellen for Easter and arranged cheap flight to Fredrickshafen. Transfer to Gargellen was a short and simple drive of 1hr 15 mins. Snow was great 40cm of new snow when we arrived on the 12th April. Unfortunately the skiing was poor for piste skiers. Only 1 red run that got very tight down towards the village, about 3 blues up in the main area and 2 main blue runs that lead to the village.
