Both Maurhofen and the neighbouring resorts offer superb boarding, particularly for freestyle, and the snowboard park is amazing. Mayrhofen is a lively resort which boosts an active apres ski scene. There are two downsides to this resort though. One, you can\'t board down towards the village. Second, the snow record isn\'t that great.

Evolene is a small resort in the Val d\'Herens, 30 minutes by bus from Sion. Like many smaller Swiss resorts, the lift system is old and very basic. Access from the valley station is via a pretty ancient and very slow 2 seat chair. Up on the hill things are not much better with just a handful of drag lifts.
