This is one of the gems. Les Orres is a mid-sized French station. Two fast 6-man chairs then a short drag lift to one of the top stations gives access to non-stop 1200m rides, mainly on blacks and reds. Stop at the Zenith Cafe at 2500m for a snack, or just to sit in the sun and absorb the mountain scenery.

I love Nendaz, and this is the third year I have gone back. As with anywhere, when the snow is good the pistes are fantastic and as we go late in the year (April) I am always amazed at how many pistes are open. The only time I have ever queued for a lift was on the Verbier side, so now tend to stick to Siviez and Nendaz. It is such a relaxing place to ski. Just had a family holiday at Aminona. Skiing was great if you were up when the slopes opened but by lunch it was very slushy. Very relaxed resort compared to French resorts. Loved the Glacier run which provided a nice 5km run from the top. Winds did close the resort one day we were there but the next day provided great skiing on lovely powder. We did get a little bored of the runs by the end of the week but overall a great resort for intermediate skiers.
