I have been to Les Gets for 2 separate weeks, and a further day whilst in Geneva, and I love it. It has a lot of basic runs, but Avoriaz and the rest of the Portes du Soleil are easily accessible to push yourself a bit more. The town itself is very nice, and has some good restaurants. Although short on nightlife, the Irish bar, and the Canadian one above, are both great fun. Lots of open cruising on easy reds and blues with some good blacks for the more adventurous. Hochgurgl is linked to Obergurgle by a good Gondola and you can ski down. Much more to do in Obergurgl - Hochgurgl just has hotel nightlife. If you want safe skiing, snow sure slopes and good quality hotels without the need for wild nightlife (it is possible in Obergurgl) this is a good choice.
