We thought the resort was quite hard for beginners but intermediates and advanced skiing is excellent. It is great for a short break. We loved the Crystal repa and the nightlife and everyone was so friendly. Courmayeur is a charming town. We will be going back for sure

The town is charming, the people are dlightful and very helpful, the lift system is good and skiing is good. The locals speak good English are are very happy to help at all times. There are 3 routes up the mountain. The Courmayeur cable car which takes 133 people per trip, the Dolone gondola which takes 10 per car and the Val Veny cable car which I did not use but appeared to be about the same size as the Courmayeur cable. We did not experience any queues for these lifts and we traveled during the English 1/2 term week. This may have been a week before the main Italian holiday, but I do not know this for certain. It is possible and more cheap to hire the kit from the shops at the bottom. Loc

Just returned from a long weekend in Courmayeur 23rd - 26th January. Really accessible with flights to Turin and just under a 2 hour drive. Stayed at the Hotel Courmayeur very friendly, good food and about 7 minutes walk to the main gondola. Mainly red runs and good intermediates will ski it in a day or so. Also, not many long runs and resort gets busy on a Saturday. Don't try and eat at the Maison Vielle (at the top of the chair of the same name) on a Saturday, they can't cope and service is totally chaotic. Food at Petit Mont Blanc was pretty poor, really sloppy pizzas! For Apres-ski Bar Roma and The American Bar are good with great free nibbles! All in all a good place for a long weekend

Stayed at the Hotel Walser very near to town & the main gondola (5 minute walk). Excellent hotel with great food, great rooms & very friendly staff. I can't fault it on anything. The ski area is a little small for intermediates but the closeness of other resorts included on the lift pass makes it worth trying. We visited Pila (beautifull) & Chamonix (awesome) which broke the week up nicely. The ski area was very uncrowded until Saturday when all the locals & ski clubs arrive but monday to friday are great. The Town is very pretty & worth dining out a couple of times even if it means giving up prepaid evening meals in the hotel. It was so good we even dined out after our e
