We have just returned from a week in Chamonix. The only words i can use to describe it are awesome and extreme. We are a first time skier and a one previous weeks experience skier, both female and mid thirties. We skied mainly in Les Houche, about 5 mins from Chamonix center. ESF ski school were fantastic, spoke great english and i having only skied once before, was skiing down the to the valley on the world cup black run by the end of the week.
