Matrei am Brenner is a nice, quiet small charming place. It is not the best place for intermediate and expert skiers: there is not too much challenge. Matrei is very good though for families with children. Superb kindergarden (5 Euro per hour) where you can leave kids if they do not want to ski or are too tired.

Sicher, auch die Flumserberge haben ihre schönen Seiten: es gibt Pisten in allen Schwierigkeitsstufen und für Snowboarder gibt es einen Obstacle Park. Ausserdem sind die meisten Restaurants gemütlich und gut. Aber... Schneesicher ist das Gebiet überhaupt nicht (weil tief gelegen), die Talabfahrt nach Terzen kann man meistens vergessen und der Schnee wird schnell sulzig. Dafür hat es umso mehr Leute. Evolene is a small resort in the Val d\'Herens, 30 minutes by bus from Sion. Like many smaller Swiss resorts, the lift system is old and very basic. Access from the valley station is via a pretty ancient and very slow 2 seat chair. Up on the hill things are not much better with just a handful of drag lifts.
