Sauze d'Olux is mostly a red run resort and even the few blacks I'd really call reds. I went to all the resorts in the Milky Way: Pragelato Sestrieree, Sanscario, Clavier and a day trip to Montgenevre, in France. The lifts can shut at the first sign of bad weather (this is generally in the afternoons and will get as bad as 5 meter visibility), weekends are really busy with the locals but even then the longest I waited for a chair lift was 10 mins, the ski plod are always on the lookout…

Sauze was great and little different to any other European resort I have ever visited. The old town centre seems to get largely ignored as people congregate around the main square and its shops and bars, this is a shame as the old town is very attractive with cobbled streets and houses nestling together. The skiing was great - the reds in Sauze are some of the nicest cruising runs ever experienced. No lift queues anywhere in this end of the Milky Way. The links to the two neighbouring…

My 9th time in Avoriaz and Les Portes du Soleil and had a fantastic time again. The more we go the more hidden (and not so hidden) gems we find. Get a guide and ski the Valle De La Manche. Once you have done this and when the snow conditions are right you can go on your own but make sure you take the necessary equipment.
