We found the snow conditions at Kitzbühel amongst the best European conditions that we have ever had. Over a 1m of snow fell in the resort whilst we were there - much more up on top. We had probably the best weeks skiing that any of us have ever had. The resort itself was excellent with great alpine charm. One minor point - the Hahnenkahm gondola in the morning had horrendous queues from 9am until about 11am. My advice here is get out early - or lie in - and don\'t come back into…

The new lifts from 2007/08 are definitely making a positive improvement on the uplift capacity. One of our group started snowboarding and described the area as superb. Talk of joining the Kaprun/Zell area to Piesendorf and eventually to Saalbach continues. Would strongly recommend the Hotel Sonnblick to anyone staying in Kaprun. The food is better than any normal ski hotels.

The skiing was great but not as demanding as I was led to believe. Some of the lifts got very busy and there was a lot of walking to get to the lifts. We spent 1 hour one morning just getting from our hotel to the Trockener steg, it seemed we spent more time on lifts than skis. Zermatt is by no means cheap and we were paying about 60CHF every day on lunch, but that’s all part of the holiday.
