The amazing Sarenne route is the longest in Europe. It offers challenging black sections and magnificent views! Everybody should do this one once in their lifetime. Alpe d' Huez offers more black pistes at high altitude, but those are quite short, but definatelly challenging. The lower sections are mostly red and blue. Alpe d'Huez is not a pretty resort, but offers some nice entertainment at night. Don't expect to find here apres-ski austrian style. Be ware if the drinks scam over here. For instance a large coke is a glass containing one liter, and it costs you a lot of money! I don't think this is the resort for families with children. It is catered more towards young people, and groups.
