This is quite unknown to Brits, since you have to pass the mega-monster resorts of Alp d'Huez, Les Deux Alpes etc to get here so it tends to get overlooked. It's popular with the French, and for good reason - its a nice tidy couple of resorts (Super Devoluy is quite ugly, 60s, La Joue du Loup is a little more pituresque).
The lifts are fairly efficient but can get crowded around French holidays.
Again, since it's a 'French' resort, don't expect great nightlife - on the plus side you won't be surrounded by vomitting Brits.
The Devoluy mountain range is quite impressive - the slopes themselves look out over a surrounding ring of mountains which gives some great views.

If you are into skiing or boarding this resort (Dévoluy) is fantastic. Wide open runs and small tree-lined runs, ski paths through forests (steep blues) - easy to negotiate lift system and easy skiing from Dévoluy to Joue du la loup village. You get a ski pass with access to 100 kilometres of slopes covering both resorts. We arrived on 5th January and we did not once have to wait to get on a lift. There is a good choice of reasonably priced mountain top restaurants and the villages both offer a choice of restaurants/pizzaria's. The views are incredible and the sunshine and blue ski made our break. Don't go to this resort if you are looking for apres-ski though, there is little, actually none

We zijn de laatste week van maart geweest in superdevoluy. De pistes zijn uitstekend maar de liften ouderwets. In het gebied zijn nogal wat sleepliften. Het gebied is klein maar heel fijn voor elk wat wils . Het is wel spijtig dat er geen nummers op de borjes staan , het is gokken waar je bent. Pistes waren lekker rustig, geen wachttijden voor de liften. Prijs kwalitet is uitstekend!!! Wij zaten in L'oree des pistes en daar is er wel niks om gaan te eten we moesten steeds voor de winkels naar het centrum.

Mooie pistes, veel makkelijke pistes (zelfs de zwarte pistes zijn goed te doen!). Ideaal voor gezinnen met (kleine) kinderen, omdat je echt mooie afdalingen met ze kan maken zonder voor verrassingen te komen. Dorp zelf is niet echt een dorp, maar een groot appartementencomplex met daaronder winkels en restaurants - niet echt gezellig. Frans spreken is een pré, want de Fransen zijn niet heel toeschietelijk in dit dorp. Skiliften gaan pas om 9.30 uur draaien, hetgeen beneden lange rijen opleverde in de krokusvakantie - eenmaal boven valt de drukte erg mee, het gebied is groot genoeg!
