We visited Soll last year and stayed at the Hotel Sport Modlinger. This Hotel is situated at the bottom end of the village and there is a ski bus to the Ski School meeting point. The Sport Modlinger is pretty basic 2/3 star but the food was nice and the staff are very friendly. The village is a charming little place with enough to keep a family interested. The bars are excellent especially the whisky Muller. We arrived at this bar and were a bit worried about taking the children in as we were unsure if they would be allowed. We enjoyed Christmas week in Soll, having organised the trip privately. This is our 10th stay in Soll and we keep returning for the village charm, friendliness of the locals, excellent ski school, huge ski area and excellent value for money. All this is wrapped up in the unique brand of Austrian gemutlichkeit that they have perfected so well over the decades. We have skied in France, and the resorts of the Alberg in western Austria, but Soll keeps drawing us back with this superb combination. The snow was pretty poor, and got worse as we went through the week, although the use of the snow cannons was very organised when the temperatures allowed, and it is only thanks to this Austrian efficie

This is a fantastic small alps resort. It has a nice small town atmosphere, the locals are really friendly, the ski schools are good and its easy to get to other mountains in the area for powder riding and parks. Plenty of choices to ski. not good if youre a expert, but brillant for intermidiates. Ski maps are a bit dodge but it al adds to the challenge! We were a little disappointed with the Apres Ski, as we had chosen Soll because of its lively reputation. I would come back here.
