I went with a party of twelve who were a mix of abilities. Fortunately we had loads of new snow so the slopes were in excellent condition. The town is small but has everything you need. Don't go if you are looking for loud music and street parties but the pubs are good and restaurants are reasonable for price and all seem to have extensive menus. From what I could determine, most accommodation is within easy reach of the lifts. Our hotel was only 100 metres from the main chair and a short ski to the gondola. As far as the skiing is concerned, Montgenevre is a paradise for intermediates and the gentle long green run (Crete) from the top of the mountain is brilliant for beginners to learn and

We have been to this resort 2 years on the trot and we intend to go back this season - it is brilliant. It has snowed both times we've been (lots). I have heard people say it's quiet, but you can go to Ibiza if you want wild night life, we still manage to get in at 3am so can't be that bad. Transfer time is 90 minutes and if you stay in the centre, only a quick walk to the gondala. As for the skiing; it's great! Wonderful for beginners, wonderful range of runs, some brillant blacks and reds. Skiing into Italy is quite easy and great. Only problem is the fact half way you have to talk your board / skis off and walk. Can be icy at times especially on parts of the mountain that arnt heated by t

Montgenevre offers everything for all people in terms of the skiing...so many runs and acres of space...even skiing down into Italy was a first...Hotel Rois Mages just what we wanted and, after staying there in 2003 and returning in 2006 we reckon you can't beat it...lively ambience and used by many of the townsfolk as their local...excellent placement in town for access to slopes...all in all great...and can't wait to return in jan 2008

Positives: sunny every day enough good quality restaurants esf were brillaint, esapecially the instructor village was pretty much empty of traffic, thanks to the tunnel Eagle Rock was an easy red run, which was brillaint fun skiing into Italy from the top of eagle rock is for good skiers only and you also have to walk on the flat ski buss very good, however it finishes at 5.30 good place to learn very short transfer from Turin the best restauarants are: Le Capitane - an Italian place, which does take away pizzas Cadelasol - a lovely traditonal mountain food restaurant with great atmosphere Le Graal - only does food at lunch times, its where all the young people go, but is very good everyone

I was in Montgenenvre recently where the first snow fell on Sunday 24th September. Maybe this is a good sign for the winter? A massive amount of work is happening in Montgenevre to improve the facilities. The centre of the village is now an almost traffic area. A tunnel takes all the through traffic away from the centre, which is now almost pedestrianised. It is only single line traffic so its a great place to enjoy a drink on a sunny terrace with fantastic views of the ski area. Its a very sociable village in that it is not too commercial and inevitably, you keep bumping into people so its easy to make friends. The lifts are instantly accessible from the village and all runs come back to t
