La Chapelle d'Abondance is great. I go every single year at least once. It is quaint and picturesque with varied, quiet slopes. Snow cover is generally excellent and I feel Portes du Soleil has proven itself to have a reliable snow record. La Chapelle itself is nice and quiet, but if your favourite part of a ski holiday is the nightlife, the venues in Chatel provide complimentary transport to and from their venue (you don't even have to stay in the same bar). Go to Chatel for a few beers, when your finished say to one of the bar owners that you and your ten mates need to go home...and hop in the minibus. La Chapelle has a few good restaurants as well but if I could recommend anything... go t
