Totally enjoyed the skiing in Font Romeu. As beginners we found the resort to be great. Font-Romeu/Pyrenees 2000 has a fairly extensive ski area with something for all abilities. Most European ski areas have blue, red and black runs but this area has a few greens too. One all the way down from the highest lift, which is great for beginners. There is a childrens snow-park/ski school, restaurants and skiers can either take the gondola from the town centre or park in the large parking areas at either Font-Romeu or Pyrenees 2000.

Font Romeu is quite a good place for exploring the whole of the Cerdagne and Capcir. However, for skiing you are better off at Les Angles in the Capcir which is about 20 minutes drive (you can see the back of Font Romeu from the top of Les Angles). I don't know why Les Angles is not in the guide as it is a much better resort in my opinion. There is also skiing next to Les Angles in Formigueres. Apparently all the resorts in the Cerdagne and Capcir are now covered by one lift ticket, so with a car there is quite a lot to explore. Puig Cerda in Spain is a nice town and has quite a few smart shops and a nice old centre.
