Lovely area for beginners and intermediates. The ski pass includes altenmarkt, flachau, wagrain, flachauwinkl and zauchensee. Zauchensee which is higher and has more challenging slopes is more snow sure, but with some narrow areas approaching base station can be icy. It is easier if you have a car otherwise long trip on bus. the rest all lower but have had good snow 6 years on trot in mid February. Lovely wide pistes flanked by trees mainly chairs and gondolas but some drags in flachau lovely mountain restaurants everywhere but transport still required between areas

Jan 2006, lots and lots of snow. Many lifts are only a couple of years old, facilities are very good, queues even at peak times are small. All chair lifts up to 8 man disconnect from main cable in stns making safe use for all. Many and varied runs, some challenging reds, other wide open easy pistes. The only downside is there is not much to challenge the most proficient of skiers but beginners and intermediates are well catered for. Excellent ski school. Accommodation whilst not cheap is excellent, half board hotel with five star cuisine available. There is plenty of accommodation for Pensions etc. Larger hotels are scarce. Night life is quiet and family orientated. Few English people, lots
