Ive been this year for the third time to Les Portes du Soleil, and this time we stayed in Morzine. The ski area is without doubts one of the best in Europe (in my opinion the best). The area is huge, I stayed for three weeks in Portes du Soleil this year and haven even had time to explore all slopes. There are many fun parks and good off-piste opportunities. The atmosphere in the village is really fun and you have many apres-ski possibilities. If you are looking for a ski area with lots of different options, Les Portes du Soleil is definitively one of the best options.

Lively apres-ski atmosphere in comparison to some other French resorts and really pretty village centre.Good choice of bars & restaurants (reasonable prices). Portes du Soleil goes without saying that the skiing was superb although snow a bit thin here and there. Morzine is a very Brit friendly resort so this is something to consider if you want to get away for a real change of scenery!

Of all the French resorts I have visited, Avoriaz must be the friendliest of them all. The resort has loads of blue runs to get the blood flowing, many nice reds to get the thigh burns and nice wide mogul runs for those who still have the knees and nerves to challenge them. The resort also looks very nice when arriving... Not all concrete and brick but nice 'swiss Mountain' look. The only drawbacks are the button lifts where there should be chairs and lack of connection between the Super Morzine and the other side of the mountain. The scenery was also GREAT. Good choice of restaurants all over the resort (Avoriaz, Morzine, Les Gets), the food was better than average and the prices reasonable

My 9th time in Avoriaz and Les Portes du Soleil and had a fantastic time again. The more we go the more hidden (and not so hidden) gems we find. Get a guide and ski the Valle De La Manche. Once you have done this and when the snow conditions are right you can go on your own but make sure you take the necessary equipment.
After a dump of snow ski the Avoiraz bowl; take the first chair up and ski back down on the far left for great bumps, *** offs and general hoots.
Avoriaz is a great place to ski and snowboard and you will never get bored.
Put it on your list of places to go.

Great resort. I came here in February and I enjoyed it so much I came back in April. Everything was challenging: the snow park (very fun!!), the wall (do it on a sunny day) and venturing into Chatel, Les Crossets, and Champery. The good thing about it is that there are so many runs that are never busy and I went in half-term. Also the snow was good. Down low it got quite slushy but up high it was amazing. A word of warning: don't go to Morzine, it was so busy and the snow was slushy from the start(what a waste of a day).
