We spent last Christmas in Les Gets - and despite the lack of snow we had a great time. As a family group with an adult beginner (the rest of us are not that much better!) the wide pistes were great and allowed us all to ski together for a large percenatage of the time. With the full range of slopes open there would have been more than enough for us to do - and as it was the limited snow available just meant we explored the open slopes more thoroughly and honed our skiing techniques. The runs were well managed - given what snow there was - although the pistes did get smaller each day. We all learnt how to ski on ice, tarmac and mud eventually - but the weather was not the fault of the resort

Nice friendly village, good for families and couples. Good selection of runs. When we stayed the snow was average and rained a few days so some of the snow melted and a lot of the runs got all muddy and cruel on our skis. British Ski School was the best ski school the kids have ever used - totally excellent. There is a selection of nice restaurants but definitely avoid 'Le Peau De Vache' where they totally ripped us off - do not go there! Nevertheless we had a good time at Les Gets and would go there again but maybe later in the year when the snow is 100% guaranteed.

Excellent resort for families, snow good at mid station and above, often soft on resort runs in afternoon. Red runs below Ranfoilly lifts had best snow cover when we were there in Feb 07. Huge queues at Chevannes lift when ski lessons started, not too bad everywhere else. Fantasic views towards Mont Blanc from top of Ranfoilly, lovely long blue run ideal for families from top station to resort, at least 9km, ok even for beginners or young children.

Les Gets is a great resort, linked to an amazing ski area. Although it is on the edge of the 'Portes du Soleil' including Morzine and Avoriaz, getting around the whole ski area is no problem as the lift system is excellent. I have been to this area twice and would still go back as the area is huge. Avoid the holiday in Feb if you can as the queue's are a bit annoying - but not intolerable. Check out the mountain biking in the summer too!
