A top ski resort. Plenty to do if the snow isn't forthcoming and endless opportunity for fun when it is (there was a metre of powder when I was there and that was on piste!) The snow, at first, always seemed good, (lookout for avalanches from the Wetterhorn across the valley). Kleine Scheidegg is very good for warming drinks in teepee etc and superb views of the Eiger with a lovely descent to the village through trees. Great little journey to Wengen beside the funicular railway. Support Grindelwald playing ice hockey at the sports centre. Forget taking the cable car from Wengen to Männlichen and take the train to Kleine Scheidegg and ski across to Männlichen. Ski from the top of Schilthorn i
