Les Menuires is great value for money. We came here with our two kids and Les Menuires is a great starting point for a ski holiday in Les 3 Vallees. Loved the slopes, the weather and food! The resort itself is not the prettiest, but the central position opposite the slopes makes up for that. Access to Meribel is even better than in neighbouring Val Thorens.

Just returned from a week in Les Menuires - not the prettiest of resorts and indeed the whole resort is split over a large area - but for skiing or snowboarding in our case - we could not have had better conditions. Piste bashers worked hard every night and indeed conditions were perfect - had a good downfall of snow mid week - which gave the ultimate conditions. If there was a downside to the resort, I would say that it was not a perfect resort for beginners - either ski or board. Most runs can be quite steep in places for the first timer - the limited green runs would pass as taxing blue runs in most other European resorts and the blue runs would pass as reds. So if this is your first wint

My wife and I are going back to Les Menuires for the third time this coming season. There is fantastic skiing available here for all levels. Reasonably competent beginers or early intermediates should also find it fairly easy to ski to either Meribel or Val Thorens too. I would suggest that you need to be a fairly competent skier (and a fit one!) if you are intending to get to Courchevel and back comfortably in a day. The snow was hard packed and icey in many places during December last year, so we are hoping for some more of the fresh stuff this time around! There is accommodation available to suit all budgets, not quite so pretty but just as comfortable as Meribel, so why pay more!?

Les Menuires is an integral part of the Trois Vallees, the world’s largest ski area, with more than 600km (375 miles) of linked trails served by 200 lifts, all on one ticket. Must do trails include Covili. It’s an exciting red, you take the La Masse 1 lift to reach it. The David Douillet run, also a red, starts in the Mont de la Chambre sector and is well worth the effort. To get there, take the Les Menuires chair, then the Mont de la Chambre lift or alternatively go via the Bruyeres cable car. Another great red, also in the Mont de la Chambre sector, is the Lac des Combes run. It’s now easier to reach, as three drag lifts have been replaced by the new six-seate
