Its a magical place with many positive aspects. Nice and small skiing area, ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers with not a great deal of harder slopes for those experiences skiers.

The village itself is beautiful and very picturesque. Plenty of lovely shops and other activities taking place mid-season. The sledge runs are a lot of fun and there are a number of nice bars and restaurants in town.

I would highly recommend a holiday in Arosa, especially for families and lovers of gorgeous mountain views, fondue and traditional swiss alpine experiences.

Arosa an undiscovered delight! Fabulous skiing, well maintained pistes, great apres-ski, but not too noisy, excellent transport system. One criticism about Arosa is that the runs (that I went on) are quite narrow, that might put off some people. Arosa has enough restaurants and coffee shops - if you want more, go down to Chur. Lift prices are not cheap, but where is these days? Reasonable' prices for food at the top - but stick to things like soup & chips, and it's not so pricey.

A nice family resort with wide pistes and few trees. Lots of easy off-piste available between runs and serious backcountry skiers can go off the back of the mountain toward Lenzerheide: a linking lift is under development. Good for a long weekend, but not much more. The drive up there from Chur is Switchback Hell, take the train if possible. Lots of flat, poorly connected runs at the bottom of the lifts, skiers, sledders and walkers all mix together in a confusing muddle. Good for: Families and weaker intermediates. Dull for: Strong intermediates and up.

Few challenges for experts Wide slopes

The magic of Arosa never ceases to enchant us. For the past 11 winters, we have looked at brochures of other skiing resorts, but that's as far as it gets: We always return to Arosa! When snow conditions around Europe are not the best, put Arosa to the test! It is not overcommerc. as many of the better known resorts, but probably boasts an equal or better infrastructure to suit all tastes. Safe pistes for the young and not so young, as well as challenging runs for the more experienced. If you don't ski or snowboard, try the many walks through the forests or in the blazing sun. The road up the valley gives the feeling of a rally (365 bends), but the train journey from Chur is far more spectac
