Ski area Stubaier gletscher

The valley between Innsbruck and Neustift is stunningly beautiful. While a bit limited in scope the whole resort is modern and efficiently organised. Lift and restaurant staff are very helpful and welcoming. The snow, even at the end of April in a poor year, was excellent though a bit heavy at lower altitudes towards the end of the day - the price of blue skies and warm sunshine. We were able to enjoy the skiing after the Easter rush and some of the slopes were deserted. There are loads of lovely hotels and pensions to stay in though all require bus or coach transport to the ski area. Apres ski is almost no-existent but there's still plenty to see and do. Going back again next year!
