The village is pretty and affluent; the hotels mostly seem to be 3* or 4* types. There were lots of kids on the slopes during our stay, and the village/ area seems to target families with youngish children. We only had a day skiing so we limited ourselves mostly to the Serfaus ski area. You can link to the other ski areas (Fiss and Ladis) from Serfaus, but you have to return to the main gondolas and get the Sunliner gondola, rather than cutting across mid mountain which is slight annoying. The skiing was reds and blues and a couple of cat tracks on the linking runs. Some of the lifts were very busy but that might be related to the time of year. A keen skier would complete all the runs in the

Eerste maal in Serfaus / Fiss geweest.

I visited this resort at New Year 07/08 with my girlfriend. It was recommended to us by my Austrian uncle. Our lasting impression was very good. In short its relatively high for Austria (1400m) so its reliable for snow, there are expansive pistes linked with Fiss and Ladis, the village is compact and attractive and its practically unknown to the British skiing community. You could count on one hand how many British people we met or heard in a week!! The facilities are top notch at the resort and on the mountain. The lift system is modern and efficient with minimal queing, the underground train running the length of the village with 4 stops means your never more than 5 minutes walk away from

Went to Serfaus for a week in mid-March of 07. We didn't see a cloud in the sky for a week. The skiing was fabulous, but the end of the day runs were like mashed potatoes. Each day we did the same thing; head to Fiss/Ladis to do the Frommes-Abfahrt and then up to Masner for the day in Serfaus. We stayed at Hotel Silvretta in Serfaus and it was amazing. Great food, rooms and service. I just booked another week for March of 08! Can't wait to get back to the best skiing in Austria. The skiing experience in Serfaus is as good as St. Anton, Ischgl, or Soelden because there are no crowds. Yes, the apres-ski is better in all three places, but if you hate lift lines like I do and love wide open pist
