Skiers can enjoy the well groomed, tree lined inter-linked pistes down to Morillon, Les Carroz and Sixt, and with north facing slopes heavy snowfall attracts off piste skiers to the areas above Samoens, Les Molliets and Vernant. Immediately above Samoens at the top of the new cable car, lies the purpose-built satellite, Samoens 1600, with its own small ski area beneath the 2120m Tete des Saix. Perfect for beginners there is a sizeable area of nursery slopes and some pleasant reds, and one steep and bumpy black. Linked to Flaine, Morillon, Les Carroz and Sixt, Samoens offers a vast domain of runs - from challenging blacks to gentle nursery slopes. For those with insatiable appetites, Les Gets and the Portes de Soleil can be reached in under 40 minutes by car. Although Samoens itself is at a modest 820 metres, a brand new gond...
