This is a vastly improved resort compared to 5 years ago. The new lifts have opened up the area and gives you a tremendous variety of slopes to ski. I'm hooked and look forward each year to see the changes that have occurred. I have just returned from 31st trip to the resort. The snow this April was wonderful. Deep powder snow. Wonderful.

Lively and young crowd No negative aspects!

Fantastic week skiing, plenty of snow and the pistes were very well cared for. Stayed at the Edelwiss which is a small family run hotel - would not advise staying here if you want to party! They don't like people returning late. The Pavillion is great for Apres-Ski as soon as you get off the mountain but the Londoner still has the best atmosphere.

Excellent piste maintenance No negative aspects!

I spent a season here and would go back again without a second thought. The area is basically comprised of three main zones, which are not connected by lifts. Yep, that means buses. Don’t be put off, this is a good thing. Most people on a weeks holiday take the easiest route up the hill i.e. the nearest gondola. Take a bus for 20 minutes to the bottom of a chair and kiss goodbye to crowds. By far the biggest area is that served by the Hannenkamm gondola, which is situated at the top of town and an easy walk from any accommodation in central or upper town. Take the gondola up and prepare to be disappointed. You are dumped right on the outskirts of the slopes on what is basically a ca

Kitsbühel clearly is among the nicest ski resorts in Europe! The array of slopes especially of difficult (labelled black) and intermediate (labelled red) level is unequalled! Beautiful trails await to be conquered by athletic skiers and boarders. Beginners are probably not too willing to pay the rather expensive ticket fees as they can not tap the potential of this ski resort! A special highlight is a ride on the gondola 3S Bahn (D9) that opened in 2004. The construction as well as the height at which one travels at in the gondola is truly impressing! Kitzbühel belongs to the top ten ski resort in the Alps.

Some pistes can get very conjested (maybe because it was Hahnenkamm week - not sure), but there are plenty of quieter runs - try the Kitzbuheler Horn and Jochberg areas. Run 26 (a nice easy blue) is great to do first thing in the morning (picturesque and completely empty); plenty of blues for the beginners; run 23 is nice easy black (very wide piste on the steeper section) for those who starting out on black runs. Unfortunatley, if you not familier with some of the blues or aren't brave enough to shoos from the top, you can end up walking quite often. I've been to Tigne previously and the Kitbuhel ski bus service is hopeless in comparison - ended up walking back to the Hotel every evening (J
