I've been going to Val Gardena for the past six years along with the same people and it's sort of grown into a "second home from home", except at 3200 metres. Val Gardena must be one of the most beautiful places to go snowboarding. The views from Col Raiser, Seceda and the numerous other peaks surrounding the valley are simply breathtaking, and taking a break at the Danielhütte (located 3000 metres just below the peak of Seceda) with a cup of hot coco and cream refreshes the soul and makes you ready to hit the slopes again. However, being Italy, the true freestyler doesn't really have a lot to choose from. Three years ago there wasn't a single prepared jump or halfpipe, but since S

Great resort, great skiing, stunning scenery. The dolomiti superski is certainly the biggest ski terrain worlwide (not the trois valees, no matter what the french say). Dolomiti superski has 450 lifts, 250 of which are connected. The sella ronda is a unique experience for skiers of al levels. You have the unique experience of making a different excursion every day. REALLY worth visiting. Just make sure there's enough snow, although extensive snow-making system is available. Highlights: The Marmolada glacier (3200m), Alta Badia and especially Corvara and Pedraces (a small village u should certainly visit), the Rifugio Scotoni near Passo Falzarego, the town of Cortina D'Ampezzo and the pists: S

Val Gardena has the mixture of three cultures, Italian, German and Ladino. The cultural diversity makes this a wonderful and unique ski resort. The skiing: An incredible huge ski area set among the beautiful dolomite mountains. Most intermediate skiing with some advance cruisers. The skiing is not real challenging, but even the most advanced skier will enjoy a week of exploring all that it has to offer. The food is wonderul with all of the countless mountain restaurants. The price is reasonable, and even on the best ski days, you still want to take time out for a wonderful lunch or afternoon gluwein or beer. I recommend Val Gardena for many reasons. A place one should put on there to do lis

Firstly, we were very lucky to have a big dump of snow on the day we arrived which obviously set up the conditions perfectly for the week. The scenery is awesome and the extent of the runs available is massive - it would be very easy to ski a different area each day of a 6 day holiday. Apart from a couple of areas the majority of runs are very wide blues and reds ideal for progressing your technique and as we had 4 children with us aged 8-11 they could ski with us all day without any problems. All the runs back into the resort centres are tree-lined with good opportunities for safe off-piste and powder skiing. The bus system to nearby resorts is frequent but be prepared for some walking to c
