Villars is situated only 1h30 from Geneva. The resort is located on a south facing plateau, and has a real 'open' feel as it isn't overpowered by any over-hanging mountains. The view accross the valley below and on the Mont Blanc in the distance is breath taking... and we've not even made it to the slopes yet! Villars is linked with Gryon and Les Diablerets. All three resorts have made huge improvements to their lifts, and it's now rather unusual to find any more queues. I'm not sure how many miles of slopes this gives you... but I know you can ski ALL DAY without touching the same one twice! (Based on experience...I advise taking a map with you!) Levels go from real beginner (baby slope) to

It is a wonderful little town that is very friendly and welcoming. Insofar as skiing was concerned, well, my wife and children all loved it, while I pottered around exploring on my own account. I felt that as a competent skier there was much more than was immediately apparent and that I should invest in a few days ski-school to open up the possibilites that a tourist just will never discover for themselves unless very lucky. I would certainly recommend ski-school to EVERYONE no matter how good they claim to be. Simply you will derive more from the resort than you will find on your own. If you haven't been to Villars, do so it is a classic chocolate box resort that is much under-rated.
