I don't know why people say slope skiing in Verbier is difficult and badly planned. Actually, I found it extremely easy: a lot of red runs should be considered blue and there are black runs which are almost flat. I think the skiing is great, the Savoleyres area has some fantastic slopes down to La Tzoumaz and if you want a little more adventure you can always try the slopes in Thyon, where you will find Piste de LOurs: a huge olympic run. The scenery in Verbier is probably the most beautiful I have already seen. It's much wider and stunning than Val D'Isere and the tree runs that stretch from Les Ruinnetes to Verbier are great when the visibility is bad. As far as the village itself, it h

Verbier offers so much - it accommodates perfectly for a range of skiers and there's always the chance to explore further than just Verbier itself which can be recommended in peak season. It's a fantastic resort-gorgeous scenery, fantastic pistes and so much to offer. Surely you'd much rather be in Verbier, a resort always catching the sun than Chamonix in a deep valley which often gets very cold and dark.

Verbier is one of the best all round ski resorts, it has something for everyone. Great on piste/off piste, excellent nightlife and ease for international guests. The apres ski was amazing, visit the farinet for a rowdy evening or the fer a cheval for a quieter drink. Although one down side is, Verbier seems to have sold its soul a little and could well be an English Mountain. You might even bump into mr. Branson here!

Its really bad for beginners, nursery slopes are few and busy with sledging as well. Good for intermediate, advanced and expert. Off Piste – wow! Lifts seem to break down over an hour a day! Intermediates– good place for you. Not much in the way of on mountain restaurants. The nightlife keeps you up all night!

Stayed in Verbier during mid-Mar 2008. The town is busy and buzzy. The nightlife is good but downmarket. The slopes were green down low but white up top. The on-piste skiing is surprisingly average and unchallenging. In contrast, the off-piste is outstanding. Steeps, couloirs and huge moguls can be found around every corner. The lift system is wholly inadequate for such a famous resort. Huge lines and long waits were commonplace during weekends and peak times. In summary, Verbier comes highly recommended. It has some of the best lift-served skiing on the planet. Just avoid the crowds during weekends and public holidays.
