A great surprise ! Was las week in Serre Chevalier : extensive area, very modern lifts, less queueing. Despite some reviews, Serre Chevalier benefits from a good night life : restaurant, wine bars, coffees, pubs with concerts, a large disco...and the hot baths ! 37A

Serre Chevalier's ski area is very diversified. There is something for every skill level. The slopes above Villeneuve and Monetier is very beautiful, extensive and quiet. The runs from the top of Villeneuve to the bottom are fantastic with excellent groomed pistes. Once at the bottom head to Le grotte for happy hour! Also, You should try a trip to neighbouring briancon

Serre Chevalier is a great ski resort with very good snow conditions, a large ski area, and a good ski bus system, also free at night. The only negative point is the lack of night life.

Located at northern most extremity of the Southern Alps, Serre Chevalier consists of three strung out villages namely Chantemerle, Villeneuve, and Le Monetier-les-Bains. The area is located just below the Col de Lauterets and stretches to within a few kilometres of Briancon. Arrival airports are either Grenoble (2 hours transfer) or Turin (1.5 hours transfer). The ski areas of all three villages are linked allowing excellent skiing at an intermediate standard. There are excellent beginner areas at the village level in Villeneuve and Le Monetier, whilst at Chantemerle the beginner areas are located above the village gondola. For the expert skier there are often good opportunities higher up bu

This was my First Ski Resort many years ago an everytime we return I fall in love with it again. Its French and friendly. Good facilities a lovely mix of standard ski resort stuff e.g. ski wear shops, supermarche, a magic sweetie shop and weekly markets. Vilenieve and Chantlemerle are the 2 most resorty villages on the range but each has a little bit of ye-olde france tucked away. Briancion is the largest town and is at the lower end of the road. Very french. on the junction with the road to Italy so more a market town with some skiiing. Do not just visit this area to ski come back in the summer and you will love it just as much!! Oh and the skiing a good mix of levels great for beginners pl
