Saas Fee is awesome. I know it's not the biggest resort, and sometimes it can take a while to get to certain points of the mountain, especially if you're there during busy holiday weeks like New Years, half-term, etc.
Saas Fee offers incredible off-piste runs through all parts of the mountain, including the lower sections through the woods. It's one of the only places I have been where you can almost run into wildlife grazing.
This place has everything and more of what I imagined a beautiful Swiss ski resort to be. A great apres-ski culture, some really nice restaurants, some cool bars. Enjoy Saas Fee.

Note: Went after it had snowed 70 cm in one week, so piste conditions were unusually good. It was also the first couple of days in April, so the resort was sunnier than usual. Despite variable conditions (everything from foot-deep powder on top to sloggy slush at the bottom), my wife and I had a great time. The glacier runs are far better than Zermatt's, yet the village lacks the charm and authenticity of its more popular sister. The only Walliser houses I saw were purely for tourist consumption. The pistes are limited, and there is a lot of walking to be done. I was lucky enough to find some fresh powder on Plattjen two days after it snowed; even the crud was fun on my longboard. Avoid the

Just back from Saas. Skiing - okay, but a bit limited below 2500m as lack of snow meant only one run to village open. Do a day at Saas Grund...great slopes and very sunny, whereas Saas Fee is cold and sun goes early. Village - very beautiful and charming, with all you could want. Accomodation - stayed at Hotel Allalin which was totally brilliant. Great views, food and staff. Very clean and service was excellent. Bars, etc - apres is a bit light but the Black Bull and Nesti were good but not like Austria (jumping). Metro bar was good later. Avoid Poison unless under 22 and grungy. Overall - nice and beautiful resort with great views. Skiing okay but a bit limited unless lots of snow below 250

Visited Saas Fee in Christmas 2007, with my wife and grown up kids. It is a resort best suited to intermediates as there are not many blue runs. We stayed at the Crystal Hotel La Collina, which had great facilites, and single rooms for the kids at no extra cost. Plus a swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room. Although the food was a bit limited. The walk to the lifts was a ten minute slow walk or a 7 minute march, we left our gear at the new Ceasar sports shop at the bottom of the alpin express, about £20 for the week for three sets of skis/boots. The apres skis spots are best at the bottom of village near the nursery slops, note that the resort is north facing, so no need for sun cre

Saas is an odd ski area in that it is very contained, very high, and very thin. The height can be very difficult for new skiiers as the altitude causes tiredness and breathlessness. It also takes a while to get to the top. However if you can put up with that you will have some excellent runs to play on. Due to be glacial the lifts high up are mostly t-bars and they can be a real chore - one particularly must be one of the longest in europe. There are some excellent blacks but if the snow is poor low downm the runs can cut up quickly. There isn't much for beginners either. The worst part is the red run heading past the mid restaurant. This is a bottle neck and virtually everyone has to ski do
