We said we would never use same resort 2 years running but our group of 5 all agreed to return. We met German and Dutch Skiers on their 12th and 16th consecutive years. Great variety of piste/off piste, very good lift systems, great affordable mountain eating everywhere. Highly recommend Furstar Ski School for instruction and guides ( ound lots of safer basic off piste for our intermediate level). We finished the week completing the "Ski Circus" in one day, your feet will *** off!! Stayed in Hotel Panther, best location for lifts and pubs but certain rooms are a little exposed to late night street revellers/early morning pub delivery's. Some of our group are returning for a weekend

A mixed group of 10 intermediates, we stayed in Chalet Juliane, opposite Bauers Ski Alm last week (19th to 26th Jan). A compact resort so nothing is far away. The skiing was great, generally did a warm up run on the red 53 underneath the Kohlmais Gondola before heading off around the ski circus or towards Leogang. The only real challenge our group faced was the long black down from Zwolferkogel and in particular the icy, narrow dog leg. The slopes were great at the start of the holiday and following a midweek dump near perfect for the last couple of days. Gondolas start at 8.30am, lifts at 9am, so you can get up and away early. Mountain restaurants were excellent, good food and reasonably pr

Hi, my name is Megan and I live in Hinterglemm, just by the Hochalm Gondola. My husband and I moved here 3 years ago and cannot believe how lucky we are to be living in such a beautiful part of the Alps. Our daughter also lives here and owns and runs her own small hotel in Saalbach. The winter is a fairytale wonderland with excellent skiing and boarding. The summer too is beautiful with the grass covered Pinzgau Mountains adorned with wild flowers and the ever present sound of a cow bell somewhere in the distance. The many hill walkers and mountain bikers return every year to the warm welcome from the local village people. Described by the German and Austrian Automobile Associations as one o

What can I say!? A fab place which amazingly gets lots of snow for a relatively low resort. Apparently this is due to it being at the end of a valley. Some great trees runs are possible and there is a massive area of powder to shred after a dump, just check your route from the lifts. The apres ski has to be seen to be believed. I have stayed in both Hinterglemm and Saalbach, both of which are rocking from 4pm until 5am. Check out The London Bar, Apresskiworld and The Goat House in Hinterglemm. When in Saalbach be sure to visit The Hinterhagalm (look on the piste map), The Bauer Alm, the Tower Bar, Castellos and Arena. Some great drinking and partying can be had at all of those places, and th
