Livigno is awesome and well presented, with friendly helpful locals, cheap well furb'd restaurants - stone baked pizzas as low as 4euros, steak 12euros, pint 3euros!! Duty-Free shopping too - though don't be fooled, some shops were much more expensive than the UK! Runs were great for all standards, nice wide gradual (fairly quiet) runs for beginners up to more challenging quieter runs for the advanced boarder.

The resort itself is very cheap, both food and alcohol. The food in Marco's is great but there are plenty of great restaurants dotted around the village. There are plenty of wee runs where you can *** in of piste for a bit and there are now 2 bordercross parks at either side of the mountain as well as the excellent terrain parks, complete with airbags. Instructors are very helpful, attentive and most importantly, encouraging and enthusiastic. All in all, once you get over the crippling transfer time from the airport, about 4 1/2 hours, you'll have a fantastic time.

Livigno is een klein, gezellig gebied. Ideaal voor een gezin. Bijzonder gezellig dorpje, zonder overdreven apres-ski zoals in Oostenrijk. Zeer vriendelijke mensen daar.

Skiing was limited for us - we skied every run by 2nd day lunchtime! However, this would be a fab resort for beginners with wide open runs well groomed. The "black" runs there would get a dark blue in most French resorts! Sun shone every day which was nice but more snow was needed by end of week. still very well maintained though. A few of the runs need some more thought as there are a number of bottlenecks where large queues build up although generally the lifts are not bad for queuing. We had a day trip to St Moritz- well worth it to see how the other half live! A lot more skiing too. Lots of shops in Livigno but most sell same stuff- mainly perfume, fags, booze or designer cloth
