Visited Kaprun 10th March for a week. Very picturesque resort with an efficient bus link to the Kitsteinhorn lifts. Barely had to queue for the buses and the lift queues were okay providing you were at the base station by a reasonable time. Skiing is good for beginners and early intermediates with some good wide pistes for practicing technique. Ski school was also very good. Limited runs in Kaprun, though pass does cover Zell am See which is bus linked from the town. Stayed at Hotel Barbarahof - large comfortable room and excellent food. Very good spa too All in all, would recommend for beginners or 2nd weekers.

We were at Kaprun over 1-7 Jan 2006. I was extremely impressed: together with Zell am See, Kaprun offers a fantastic range of skiing. The glacier area at Kaprun offers a great combination of blues/reds for the beginner and intermediate, whilst giving the expert extensive powder areas to play in. Zell am See, a short ski bus ride away, has a good spread of blues/reds/blacks to keep the whole group interested. It was the peak week of the season, but with the exception of the morning queues to get up the Mountain, everything moved quickly and the slopes werent crowded (Black runs were even quite empty). Definitely a location to keep all skiers happy.

I was skiing on the kitzsteinhorn in february 2006. the lifts up were swift, and despite it being the school holidays there were few queues anywhere in the ski area - particularly compared to nearby zell-am-see. i have to say i was really impressed overall. plenty of good places to eat including a restaurant at over 3000m with amazing views. it hasn got much in the way of expert runs, but it has got a few excellent long and challengingred runs - i especially liked the red from the top of the gondola to the mid station.
