A superb little resort that takes different weather systems than the far north. It is limited in scope to say the Dolomites, but brilliant for a few days ski for an average intermediate and very suited to families. Perhaps an advanced skier would find Abetone a bit limited as an area to ski. Abetone is not so touristic so I didnt feel as if I was being ripped off being a foreigner there. 2Alps is a large ski resort with its own glacier offering year-round skiing. For snowboarders, it also has an impressive board park that gets moved to the glacier in the summer. Although the vast ski area gets frequent dumps of snow through the winter, the lack of trees on the mountain and the sometimes gale-force winds usually blow the fresh stuff away. The Sankt Anton am Arlberg ski area in itself is quite small, but the connections make it a large area. The separate areas are connected by several lifts, you will spend a long time using lifts to get to another village. In addition, the connecting lift(s) are frequently closed by high winds, avalanche risk or downright lack of people.
